II. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Philippines are a serious contender to India and China as the preeminent location for global IT/BPO operations. From 1,500 people and a revenue of USD 24 million in 2007, the Philippines’s total IT market grew by 38.6% and generated USD 5.2 billion in value by YE2007. Software and service sales grew 22.3% to USD 1.2 billion in the same period, of which software revenues were USD 0.4 billion and services USD 0.8 billion. IT infrastructure outsourcing marginally exceeded USD 4.0 billion. Total IT exports in 2006 topped USD 300 million, while domestic outsourcing is expected to exceed USD 100 million in 2007 by growing over 20%. Of these services, IT outsourcing in the Philippines generated USD 4.8 billion in revenues for 2007, growing 43.2% over 2006. Growth will continue to an estimated 30% in 2008 and exceed USD 6.3 million in revenues, continuing to and estimated USD 10.8 billion in 2010.
